Intrigue Consulting was founded to allow us, Naim Khan and Shehzaad Khan CA(SA), to pursue the fascination we have for the complexities associated with the areas of Accounting, HR, Labour Relations and Tax.

Whether it is the ever changing world of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Tax legislation or the “No two scenarios are the same” world of HR and Labour Relations, our passion shines through the innovative solutions we provide to you, our partners.

The ability of the Founders to utilise their fascination with Accounting, Tax and HR to satisfy an innate desire to develop individuals and their business is Intriguing. We go beyond the operational admin and fee billed to empower our partners and guide the strategic direction of their business. Our aim is to teach our partners to “fish” so they have the ability to experience growth and development beyond what they initially thought possible.

Naim Khan

My HR journey started in 2001 when I was appointed to the HR portfolio at the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Council (EMM) forming part of a team responsible for the drafting and implementation of a placement policy to incorporate 11 individual Municipalities into a single Metropolitan council, placing over 21 000 employees without the termination of a single employment contract.

16 Years later the fascination continues, and with both public and private sector experience, spanning various industries, in the areas of HR, Labour law and regulations, employment contracts, collective bargaining, grievance and disciplinary procedures as well as over 100 cases at the CCMA representing both employer and employee with a 100% success rate, I am able to deliver specific, tailored and successful solutions to our partners.

Shehzaad Khan CA(SA)

My fascination for the complexities associated with implementation and compliance with IFRS and Tax legislation began during the completion of my honours in Applied Accounting Science. This fascination grew with time and pushed me to pursue opportunities at one of South Africa’s leading banking groups, leaving behind 4 years at South Africa’s Supreme Audit Institution (SAI). The time spent as a Technical Accountant responsible for implementation of IFRS across the banking group; as a Senior Financial Manager within the vehicle and asset finance business of that group, as well as at South Africa’s SAI, during and post articles, has allowed me to build a sound foundation and gain significant experience in:
  • The complexities associated with the implementation and compliance with IFRS and the various Tax legislation.
  • Annual Financial Statements
  • Audit (External and Internal)
  • Business process and risk identification
  • Financial analysis
As a registered member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and a registered Tax Practitioner with the SARS, coupled with my desire to develop and empower individuals, utilising the knowledge gained through experience, to achieve the goals and dreams imagined when commencing their entrepreneurial journeys, I am able to deliver quality, innovative solutions to our partners.
